What does Markdown Tidy actually do?

It cleans messy Markdown — especially the kind ChatGPT and other AI assistants emit — and converts it to PDF, DOCX, HTML, plain text, PNG, or a Google Doc. You paste, click "Tidy", click "Export". The conversion runs locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded for free use.

Is there a free version?

Yes. The free tier supports cleanup, preview, and PDF/HTML/text export. Premium adds DOCX and PNG export, saved history, share links, and removes ads. There's no trial timer — the free tier is permanent.

How much does Premium cost?

$5.00 / month (plus any applicable taxes shown at checkout). One subscription, all features. See pricing for the full comparison.

How do I cancel?

Open your account page and click "Manage subscription" — you'll be taken to Stripe's customer portal where you can cancel in two clicks. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep Premium until then. No cancellation fees.

Do you offer refunds?

Fees already paid for the current billing period are non-refundable, and we don't prorate partial months — see Terms §6 for the full text. That said, if Premium genuinely didn't work for you, email support@mg.mdtidy.com — we'll look at it case-by-case.

How is my receipt / invoice sent?

Stripe emails a receipt for every charge to the address on file. Need a custom invoice with your company name / VAT ID for your accounting team? Reply to any Stripe receipt with the details and we'll regenerate it.

I forgot my password / I can't sign in.

Markdown Tidy uses passwordless sign-in via magic links. Enter your email on the sign-in page and we'll mail you a one-click link. If the link doesn't arrive within a minute, check spam — Gmail in particular sometimes lands it under "Promotions". Still stuck? Email support@mg.mdtidy.com.

Where is my data stored?

Free-tier conversions never leave your browser — the entire cleanup and export pipeline runs client-side using WebAssembly. For Premium "saved history" and "share links", the documents you explicitly choose to save are stored on our servers (Neon Postgres, hosted in the US). Full details in the Privacy Policy.

Can I delete my account and all my data?

Yes — open your account page and click "Delete account", or email support@mg.mdtidy.com. Deletion removes your account, saved documents, and share links within 7 days.

What export formats are supported?

Free: PDF, HTML, plain text. Premium: adds DOCX (Microsoft Word), PNG (rendered image), and Google Doc (direct upload to your Drive). All exports use the same cleaned Markdown, so layout is consistent across formats.

Why do my tables / headings look wrong in the export?

Usually a syntax issue in the source Markdown — broken table separators, mismatched fence backticks, or missing blank lines around headings. The editor's "Tidy" button auto-repairs most of these. If you still see issues after tidying, paste the raw Markdown into an email to support@mg.mdtidy.com and we'll diagnose.

Is there an API?

Yes — see API & Keys. Premium plans include API access for programmatic clean / repair / convert.

Do you offer team or enterprise plans?

Not packaged as a separate tier today, but if you need multiple seats or an invoice + purchase-order workflow, email support@mg.mdtidy.com and we'll set something up.

How do I report abuse or copyright infringement?

Email support@mg.mdtidy.com with the URL and a description. For DMCA-style IP complaints, see the procedure in our Acceptable Use Policy.
